Steve Silverman, MA is a retired teacher, having mostly taught elementary school full-inclusion hearing and deaf classes, and adult sign language.  He is disabled (and doesn't think his deafness is a disability).  His interests include reading voraciously, Scrabble, quotations, his dog (currently Iris) and vegetable gardening.  He lives with his wife Lisa in Los Angeles and is a proud father and grandfather.  "For myself I am an optimist - it does not seem to be much use being anything else." - Sir Winston Churchill
